Greetings!
As 2024 winds down, I’d like to take this opportunity to express just how grateful I am for the amazing changes that have taken place here at Ragamuffin Archive over the past year. First and foremost, I am incredibly thankful for the awesome team that we have assembled: Chris Marchand, Hal Swift, Nate Eichelman and myself. Just this afternoon, the four of us gathered together on Zoom to brainstorm ways to kick off the Archive’s upcoming 15th Anniversary Celebration. That’s right! As hard as that may be to believe, January 23rd marks 15 years since we uploaded our first video to YouTube. Our goal is to celebrate this milestone throughout 2025 and we’ve got some incredible stuff planned, including brand new video uploads, more weekly episodes of our “Revisited” podcast, special episodes with exciting new interviews on Between the Songs podcast, a continuation of the “Slick Pop Sounds” remix project, and even the launch of a brand new podcast with two exciting new hosts—we’ll officially be announcing that last one very soon and we can’t wait to tell you all about it! And that’s just scratching the surface! We have even more great stuff planned that we’re simply not ready to announce… but 2025 is shaping up to be the most exciting year in the Archive’s history.
Beyond all that, we’re also looking at fundraising options and preparing to launch a Patreon so that fans of Ragamuffin Archive will—for the first time ever—have an opportunity to partner with us so that we can continue to bring you great Ragamuffin content like we have done for the past decade and a half! We’ll even be offering unique content exclusively to our Patreon backers. In all these years, Ragamuffin Archive has never raised money and this was not a decision we made lightly. That said, we now have multiple monthly/yearly expenses and we only expect those costs to grow in the new year. But as our costs grow, that means we’ll be able to bring you more great content than ever before!
So here’s looking to a bright new year in 2025! We’re excited to expand our team and branch out into new territory—and we can’t wait for you all to come along with us on this journey!
